Default Tyros 2 hard drive

The maze of information available from Yamaha on the hard drive is of no help to this beginner.

Below is information on a HD that I ordered from KeyFax. I am returning it because there are no skrews for installation.

Internal Hard Drive

Quantity in Basket: None
Code: 2.5HD
Price: $0.00
Shipping Weight: 1.00 pounds

Hard Drive Size: 40GB $149
60GB

Any advise on getting a good HD for my Tyros 2 will be appreciated.

Rex

Default Tyros 2 hard drive

Rex,

A thought! - and I have not got a Tyros 2 here to try this, but from memory I thought the screws were inside the hard drive bay on Tyros 2.

Have you removed the HD cover section on your Tyros 2 and checked to see that the screws for the hard drive are not already there (i.e. in place in the threads)?

Keyfax are a great company and am sure a phone call/ email to them would remedy this if it does require additional screws.

Regards

Simon

Default Tyros 2 Hard Drive

Hi Rex

Upon thinking about this further. The hard drive screws may have been included in the original Tyros 2 box with the owner’s manuals etc?

I would suggest checking either this location or my other suggestion in the forum post above (i.e. on the mounting cover plate, which itself is under the HD outer cover), as I feel quite sure that the proper screws are included with Tyros 2.

Regards

You may be right on target. The owner's manual does say, "... mount with the supplied screws."

I will check this.

In the meantime, help me choose a good harddrive. The Tyros supplied information is a maze to me.

Thanks,

Rex

Default Hard Drive

Don't know if you have one yet but I have a list of them and your one seemed very expensive to me. I do intend trying PC World and MicroMart magazine and also the Net when I am in need of mine . I think SD cards will
do at the moment. Bill Doran

As promised ; My hard drive has arrived and easily installed (carefully though),
Remove Plate fix with the 4 screws ( small ones came with the Tyros2), then
the plate just slides into the T2 again.

Details ; info@centretek.co.uk product code 1777 Seagate ST9100828A
it is 100Gb price 36.94 delivery £5 Vat £7.34 Invoice total £ 49.28.

Hope this is of use as this one is not on the list I have seen , and had no luck with getting any of them !!! Regards to all Bill Doran
