Basic Sequencing: Recording With 'Song Creator' Tutorial DVD Ref: YCA-DVD03 Price: £17.86 (£20.99 Including VAT at 17.5%) FREE UK Delivery - Good Value International Delivery Prices | | | DVD Tutorial: BASIC SEQUENCING - RECORDING WITH 'SONG CREATOR'
Presented by GLYN MADDEN DVD(PAL Format): 1 hour duration
" Basic sequencing is something that can be achieved and enjoyed by everyone. Open the door to Yamaha's 'Song Creator' - and unlock your potential to create professional sounding recordings and backing tracks." Glyn Madden
You can see peoples eyes glaze over when you use words like 'sequencing' - yet many of the very same keyboard players are keen on the idea of recording their music and, basically, that's what this DVD is all about.
The vast majority of 'recent' Yamaha keyboards, from the PSR1000 upwards, include a 16-track music recorder (sequencer) where you can layer up to sixteen instruments to create fully orchestrated arrangements.
Making a simple recording can be as easy as pressing the RECORD button and playing a tune but, through the course of this DVD, Yamaha keyboard player Glyn Madden teams up with technical whiz James Woodcock (behind the camera) to show you how to achieve more than this.

Start, for example, by building up a sequence of chords - adding them into the program one at a time at your own pace. Then, when these are played back at normal speed, you discover that you've created a great sounding backing track... almost as if by magic!
Next, why not record a melody to go with the backing? And here Glyn demonstrates how wrong notes can be corrected or eliminated from the recording before adding a second track superimposed on top of the first.
Finally, lyrics are added to the finished recording. These, together with the music notation can be displayed on the instrument's screen during performance. All you have to do then is sing along - following the bouncing ball as the lyrics scroll by.
During the DVD Glyn plays both a Clavinova and the Tyros 3 keyboard to emphasise the point that this tutorial DVD (BASIC SEQUENCING - RECORDING WITH 'SONG CREATOR'), like the previous two DVDs in the Playing Yamaha series, is relevant to all instruments in the range from PSR1000 upwards.
Introduction (0:53) Yamaha Club Editor Glyn Madden introduces the programme.
Simple recording (7:21) Press a button and record what you play. It doesn't get easier than this!
